Start of the day - All Year 4 children are to enter from 8.35am through the Gym block entrance. Parents are not permitted in the school building, should you need to chat to your child's teacher please make an appointment at the school office.

 

End of the day -Years 4 and 5 will be dismissed from their exterior classroom doors. Please congregate near to these but stay away from the windows. Teachers will dismiss the children from the classroom as they see adults arrive; there is no need to enter a classroom.  Please wait for your child to be dismissed by their teaching staff.

 

PE days 

4B - Mondays & Thursdays

4S - Mondays & Fridays

 

Children will be doing doing gymnastics with Mr.Barber. Combining floorwork and transferring those skills to the gymnastic equipment. With Mr.Dawson, children will be taking their Fundamentals to higher levels and incorporating these skills into high energy games.

 

 

Uniform - Full uniform must be worn. On PE days, children can attend in their PE uniform. For more guidance please visit our Uniform page

 

 

This term in year 4

 

During the first half of spring term in Year 4 we will be continuing to read "The Girl Who Stole an Elephant" as our guided reading focus, we will then look at a new book "The Boy at the Back of the Class". In our English lessons we will focus on stories from other cultures and planning and writing explanatory texts. We will be learning about multiplication and division in our maths lessons, also looking at measuring length and perimeter. In science we will be studying animals including humans and in geography we will learn about latitude and longitude. In history we will begin a new unit on Ancient Egypt, which will include an exciting full day workshop at school!
