Start of the day - All Year 4 children are to enter from 8.40am through the Gym block entrance. Parents are not permitted in the school building, should you need to chat to your child's teacher please make an appointment at the school office.

 

End of the day - Year 4 children wait outside the Gym block entrance on the main playground to be collected from 3.15pm. Please wait for your child to be dismissed by their teaching staff.

 

PE days - 

4LB - Wednesdays & Fridays

4M - Wednesdays & Fridays

4E -Wednesdays & Thursdays

 

Uniform - Full uniform must be worn. On PE days, children can attend in their PE uniform. For more guidance please visit our Uniform page

 

 

What we will be learning about in Autumn

 

Reading and writing - We will be looking at books such as "The Queen's Nose", "Caged Bird" and "The girl who stole an elephant". In writing children will be learning more about formal writing, poetry and third person stories amongst other things.

 

Maths - Children will be learning place value, addition and subtraction, measurement as well as multiplication and division.

 

Science - Children will be looking at living things, habitats and states of matter.

 

ICT - We will be navigating through online safety, programming and systems.

 

RE - In Religious education children will be discovering more about Christianity and Buddhism.

 

Art/D&T - We will be exploring pattern work and storytelling through drawing.

 

Geography - The classes will be looking at rivers, latitude and longitude.

 

History - We will be looking at the Anglo-Saxons and settlements.

 

Music - The children will be creating percussion using the body as well as Rock n Roll.

 

MFL - Children will be learning French using descriptions and learning about clothes names.

 

PSHE - All the children will be looking at "being me" as well as celebrating differences.

 

PE - Children will be enjoying ball games to build on their skills, gymnastics, dance and football.
